Job Description

In this role, you will be a proactive, strategic leader that has hands-on operations & finance experience and thrives in growth businesses. The Controller will report directly to the CEO and will be responsible for financial reporting, forecasting and budgeting, as well as AR & AP. This individual needs to feel confident in working with a Board of Directors and Private Equity Firm.

This is an exciting opportunity to act as a strategic thought partner to the CEO and Board Members to unlock value across the business while putting you on a path to CFO.

Responsibilities

  • Build and maintain accurate FP&A and value-add reporting for CEO and key stakeholders including investors, lenders and Board of Directors
  • Partner with CEO on budgeting and financial planning. This includes ensuring robust and accurate cash flow planning, forecasting, & tracking as well as scenario analysis
  • Manage the accuracy and productivity of day-to-day activities of accounts payable, cash disbursements, invoicing/billing, customer credits and collections, fixed asset records, general & entity accounting and cost accounting
  • Manage the month-end closing process, continuously improving the issuance of monthly, quarterly, and year-end financial records in accordance with company timeline
  • Partner with executive team to develop data-driven strategic and operational recommendations
  • Balance short-term concerns i.e. managing cash and long-term vision and sustainable organizational success
  • Attend Board meetings to discuss company’s financials, projections, and other strategic analyses
  • Maintenance of bank relationships and company bank accounts
  • Work closely with Human Resources to ensure all quarterly and annual taxes and reports are completed
  • Work closely with outsourced CPA firm on annual review and taxes

Qualifications

  • 5+ year’s experience in Finance, FP&A and Accounting
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, Business highly preferred
  • CPA certification or MBA highly preferred
  • Working with a Board of Directors and Private Equity Firm a plus
  • Attention to detail and excellent organizational skills
  • Proactive, strategic, and confident
  • Excellent ability to understand as well as build data analytics, and financial and operational KPIs
  • Someone who is looking to grow into CFO role
